Analyze Credit Card Usage
One of the benefits of having corporate credit card accounts is that many times, the credit card companies offer several benefits to using their cards. Unfortunately, many companies do not have the manpower to analyze their own credit card usage to know whether they are taking full advantage of those benefits. This could result in savings of thousands of dollars on an annual basis.
Ad-hoc Financial Reports
There are times you may find yourself needing custom financial reports that your accounting system just can't provide. We offer more than ten years of experience in this task alone, with access to many different report writing tools to get you the information you need when you need it.
Preparation of Financial Compilations
Most executives do not understand accounting and if they do, it's not their job to know how to put it all together because they have bigger and better things to be working on. With our knowledge and experience, we can prepare your financial compilations - balance sheet, income statement or profit and loss (P&L), and statement of cash flows - in an easy-to-understand manner.
Balance Sheet
A balance sheet gives you a snapshot of your business' financial condition at a specific moment in time. A balance sheet helps you quickly get a handle on the financial strength and capabilities of your business, identify and analyze trends, particularly in the area of receivables and payables. For example, if your receivables cycle is lengthening, maybe you can collect your receivables more aggressively. You can determine if your business is in a position to expand or if you need to layoff part of your workforce.
Income Statement
An income statement, otherwise known as a profit and loss statement (P&L), basically adds an itemized list of all your revenues and subtracts an itemized list of all your expenses to come up with a net profit or loss for the period. An income statement allows you to track revenues and expenses so that you can determine the operating performance of your business, determine what areas of your business are over-budget or under-budget, and identify specific items that are causing unexpected expenditures, like phone, fax, mail, or supply expenses. You can also track dramatic increases in product returns or cost of goods sold as a percentage of sales and determine your income tax liability.
Balance sheets, along with income statements, are the most basic elements in providing financial reporting to potential lenders such as banks, investors, and vendors who are considering how much credit to grant you. In compiling financial statements for a client, we present information that is the "representation of management" and expresses no opinion or assurance on the statements. Compilations don't require inquiries of management or analytical procedures. Instead, we rely on our knowledge of accounting principles and a general understanding of your business.
Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and Balanced Scorecard
Your stockholders, creditors, or private investors have different levels of risk tolerance, so we provide you with a level of assurance by preparing these vital statistics and presenting them in a way to meet all of these needs.
Analyze Company Performance
We will analyze the overall financial health of your company by reviewing the results of the KPIs and balanced scorecards on a monthly basis. This will give your executive team the information they need to make top-level decisions in a timely manner that will continue to drive your company towards success.
Cash Flow Management
A cash crisis can be emotionally devastating and highly stressful. It can even kill your business and possibly your reputation. The starting point for avoiding a cash crisis is allowing us to develop a cash flow projection for you, as well as help you monitor your cash flow on a regular basis. Our cash management service allows you to...
know when, where, and how your cash needs will occur.
know what the best sources are for meeting your additional cash needs.
be prepared to meet these needs when they occur, by keeping good relationships with bankers and other creditors.
The starting point for avoiding a cash crisis is allowing us to develop a cash flow projection for you. We can help you develop both short-term (weekly, monthly) cash flow projections to help you manage daily cash, and long-term (annual, 3-5 year) cash flow projections to help you develop the necessary capital strategy to meet your business needs.
We also prepare historical cash flow statements to help you gain an understanding about where all the money went.
Annual Budget and Forecast
To help your company stay on track with expenses and income, we will not only prepare your annual budget and applicable forecast, but we will help determine your estimated budget variances from month to month, quarter to quarter, and year to year. Knowing where the spending weaknesses are within your organization will help you determine how to put a stop to those leaky faucets while watching your money go down the drain.
Policies and Procedures
If there is one task a company fails to keep up to date, it's their policies and procedures. We've seen it time and time again. Companies that are skyrocketing their growth have a hard time growing internally to keep up with their external growth, which means their out of date policies and procedures create black holes where things start falling through the cracks. Because of the exponential growth, you may find there are new types of transactions you don't know how to handle or that your current process falls short because of the amount of data you now have to deal with. We assess your internal control systems to determine the efficiency and effectiveness of your operating procedures. Then we make recommendations that help your company become stronger and more profitable by correcting any inefficient or ineffective operating procedures we find.
Tax Preparation
To help simplify your life and the lives of your staff, it just makes sense to let us prepare your company's annual tax returns. We have many years of experience preparing income tax returns for businesses of all sizes and setups, from the sole proprietor to the limited liability company (LLC) to an S-Corporation and C-Corporation. We've done them all.
